
The paper is owned by PT Bina Media Tenggara, and headquarters in the capital, Jakarta. and is one of the few English-language Indonesian newspaper to survive the Asian financial crisis in 1997 and currently has a circulation of about 40,000.
The Jakarta Post also features both a Sunday and the online edition, which goes into detail not possible in the print edition of the newspaper. It is targeted at foreigners and Indonesian-educated, middle-class readers though Indonesia has increased.
